Overview

Distribute inventory supplies to appropriate departments. Receives, stores and issues materials, supplies and equipment. Takes inventories and assists in compiling stock records.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Under direct supervision of Inventory Manager, stocks warehouse items and marks identifying information such as catalog number, date received and other data on items.
    • 1.1 Keeps department supply areas filled on a daily basis, as observed by the Inventory Manager.
  • 2. Fills and delivers requisitioned orders to appropriate departments and refers related problems to Inventory Manager.
    • 2.1 Inventories and fills complete compliments of par stock requisitions within the eight hour shift as observed by the Inventory Manager.
  • 3. Fills and delivers par stock orders to appropriate departments and maintains them.
    • 3.1 Requisitions must be filled and delivered to appropriate area within 48 hours of its receipt as observed by the Inventory Manager.
  • 4. Assists in maintaining daily and periodic inventories.
    • 4.1 Completes assigned cycle counts and inventories as directed by the Inventory Manager.
  • 5. Maintains storage area in orderly manner as directed.
    • 5.1 Completes scheduled cleaning assignments on a daily basis as directed or rotated by the Inventory Manager.
  • 6. Packages and schedules outgoing shipments when directed by Inventory Manager.
    • 6.1 Works with departments to ensure appropriate shipping method used for each outgoing shipment.
  • 7. Performs related clerical duties.
    • 7.1 Performs and completes special clerical duties.
  • 8. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific jobrelated hazards.
    • 8.1 All required safety education programs have been attended.
  • 9. Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
    • 9.1 Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures and correct use of protective barrier equipment.
  • 10. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
    • 10.1 Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner as observed by Manager and peers.
  • 11. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
    • 11.1 Participates in staff meetings as determined by Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Duties involve clerical skills equivalent to a high school education.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum three (3) months experience preferred. Familiar with computerized inventory systems and ability to comprehend related reports and accurate with figures. Requires use of keyboard for long periods of time to key in receipts and issues into the IC computer system.


Additional Information

Monday through Friday, day shift starting at 6:30 AM.
