Job Description

THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a Records and Data Management Specialist to support an upcoming contract at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) in Newport, RI. An ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting NAVSEA/Navy/DoD Records Management (RM) and Data Management (DM) activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize records maintenance, use, and disposition for a variety of records across different physical forms and mediums.
  • Support Data Management policies, systems, and procedures for identification and control of data requirements.
  • Develop and implement a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for maintaining quality control of data submitted to a Data Management Outlook inbox.
  • Perform data center operations for technical data and documentation requiring configuration control using Integrated Product Management (iPDM).
  • Review, maintain, file and store technical documentation that impacts the operation, configuration, and maintenance of configured items (CIs).
  • Catalog, track, account, and respond to reproduction and distribution requests for technical data and documentation.
  • Transform full size hardcopy drawings and documents or microfilm aperture cards to electronic media for storage, retrieval, revision, re-identification, distribution, and archiving. Maintain all Casualty Reporting (CASREP) files and actions.
  • Support hotline services to receive and respond to fleet requests for assistance. Hotline services involve resolving technical problems, receiving and routing message traffic and phone calls to appropriate points of contact, and referring requests for assistance to other activities.

Location: Full time onsite at NUWC Newport in Newport, RI.

Typical Physical Activities: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.

Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing DoD Secret security clearance.

Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • An ideal candidate will possess additional relevant education such as technical school certification, military school diploma, or undergraduate degree.
  • At least three (3), and ideally at least five (5) years of experience supporting records management and data management activities in a NAVSEA, Navy, or similar DoD environment.
  • Proficiency with common productivity software including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
