Job Description

Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Director of Access & Emergency Services to assess and manage client access to the appropriate levels of care. Additional responsibilities will include administrative support to CFTO teams at the designated site including coordination with Program Managers to assign and monitor status of cases assist in initial authorization processes and billing issues provide outpatient services to clients awaiting access to assignment for CFTO services.

Responsibilities:

Access Clinician will have the primary responsibility for conducting intake assessments through both a walk-in and scheduled appointment system including:


Engaging family during intake visit explaining programs and benefits available to the client.


Determining appropriate level of care and corresponding service.


Conducting comprehensive evaluations to formulate accurate diagnoses determine psychological status and level of risk and determine treatment and educational interventions.


Completing required documentation to open and assign clients and enable authorization when services start.


Communicating with Program Managers to assign cases and orient clinicians to the new cases.


Preparing documentation and supporting letters for clients requiring safety evaluations.


Developing and maintaining successful relationships with other programs within Gateway and within provider community to facilitate referrals and gathering information.


Identifies indicators of abuse and neglect and responds with appropriate actions.


Increasing knowledge of diagnostic and treatment strategies that are considered evidence-based strategies for children and youth.


Maintains knowledge of psychiatric medications and works with prescribing professionals to assess and address the needs of clients assisting them in adhering to dedication protocols.


Attends meetings and trainings on time and actively participates in discussions.


Prepares for and attends supervision appointments as scheduled and follows through on assignments and instructions from supervisor.

Maintains good work habits arriving on time as scheduled.


Access Clinician will assist at the assigned location in the following tasks:


Conducting outreach calls to families when appointments are missed and who have called for information but not come to open access.


Maintaining communication with families if a case is not able to be immediately assigned.


Responding to emergency calls in a timely manner.


Providing outpatient services as requested to maintain assigned level of productivity.


Other duties as assigned.



Other information:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Master*s Degree in related field required.


Minimum two years experience in a mental health setting.


Independent licensure including LICSW or Licensed Clinical Psychologist required.


    Familiarity with specialized populations for whom she/he is responsible (e.g. trauma & complicated grief autism spectrum disorders co-occurring disorders eating disorders & other complex medical conditions and early childhood)


    NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


    Driver*s License registered and insured car.


    Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


    Self-motivated.


    Possess an empathetic attitude toward clients and family members (significant others).


    Ability to maintain professional objectivity and commitment in professional values.
