Job Description

Summary:

The Belonging and Equity (BE) Trainer works under the guidance of the Belonging and Equity leaders to support the advancement of the diversity strategy of Lifespan by providing professional-level training and course design. The Belonging and Equity Trainer collaboratively designs delivers and evaluates longitudinal program curricula consistent with Lifespan*s BE strategy. The Belonging and Equity Trainer consults on and facilitates assessments of employee skills.

Responsibilities:

Designs delivers and evaluates training programs in support of successful BE content implementation and optimization utilizing methods that meet or exceed established training standards and that ensure activities deliverables and results are characterized by the following:

In response to changes in policies technologies and special needs as determined by project leadership collaborates in assessing training needs to ensure planned training programs address identified needs of individuals and workgroups as well as organizational priorities and managerial performance requirements.

Consults with managers and supervisors to diagnose and address system-related challenges and to plan and implement appropriate problem-solving interventions. Consults as needed with others responsible for implementation of agreed-upon solutions.

Manages all administrative aspects of assigned educational programs directly or through administrative support personnel to include scheduling training locations; producing program announcements handouts follow-up communications and related collaterals; arranging for provision of audiovisual hardware and software; overseeing registration of participants; and preparing or overseeing preparation of all program documentation as needed.

Selectively attends external workshops professional association conferences and the like to research information evaluate performance of external training consultants and materials being considered for purchase. Maintains or develops current professional skills in areas of expertise.

May serve on job-related Lifespan task forces process improvement teams and committees. May represent Lifespan in relationships with colleges/universities offering both degree and non-credit programs in technical disciplines and related fields.

Manages the process to identify and retain *high potential* associates and establishes a fully integrated leadership talent pipeline. Guides and monitors the progress of high potentials and identifies quality developmental opportunities.

Champions leadership talent movement/rotations across business units creating a *mobile portfolio of talent* mindset.

Consults with cross-functional teams during the development and implementation of major initiatives to ensure equitable and inclusive practices are being considered.

Offers internal resource/consulting services in the identification development and/or introduction of high quality cost-effective leadership and diversity interventions to meet business needs.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships within Lifespan.

Provides ongoing regular reports to organizational Presidents the Lifespan Chief Belonging and EquityOfficer and the Lifespan Committee(s) as assigned.

Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and customer at the center of care throughout their experience at Lifespan following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.

Maintains systems to track measure and report on diversity initiatives and programs to ensure compliance and completion.

Explores diversity issues by reviewing publications benchmarking state-of-the art thinking forming focus groups; conducting surveys requesting internal and external input from those in a position to contribute and measuring diversity trends content and responses.

Responsible for developing sustained relationships with regional leaders teams and groups.

Assists in providing recommendation on strategic diversity goals by gathering pertinent business financial and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives and evaluating outcomes

Responsible for compliance with organizational integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

Other information:

EDUCATION:

* Education: Bachelor*s Degree (Master*s Degree preferred) in Humanities Administration Organizational Management Business or related field or experience in lieu of education.

* Licensure/Certification: Trauma Informed Curriculum Design preferred

* DEI subject matter expertise knowledge and ability to incorporate instructional technology effectively into educational programming including self-instructional and computer-based training programs.

* The professional level of knowledge of the development design requirements administration implementation and evaluation of adult educational programming related to DEI and trauma informed care.

EXPERIENCE:

* Experience: Documented dedicated experience of four or more years working with issues of diversity equity and inclusion along with in-person and virtual facilitation and training delivery.

* At least three years of current relevant experience in training and education consultation preferably in a mid-to-large sized healthcare organization.

* Experience working in a health care setting and knowledge of the roles processes and desired outcomes pertaining to healthcare delivery and clinical practice.

* Experience-based knowledge of advanced instructional theory and techniques; hands-on use; and design and development of education materials is desirable.

* Languages: Ability to speak Portuguese (Continental) Cape Verdean Creole Russian Khmer or Spanish desired
