Description

As the Project Manager, you will support the departments sales efforts, provide overall management direction for a mechanical construction project or group of mechanical construction projects, and will perform additional duties that include procuring equipment and subcontracts, monitoring and accurately projecting job costs, maintaining billing and schedules and providing technical support and leadership to the field teams. Additional responsibilities include providing production oversight alongside the Installation Supervisor on the day-to-day activities of assigned projects. As Project Manager you will also develop and maintain long term customer relationships to foster better communication and develop future work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall management direction for a mechanical construction project or group of mechanical construction projects
  • Responsible for project delivery as it pertains to schedule, budgets and financial targets and resource management.
  • Analyzes financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation
  • Acquire and maintain all necessary permits/licensing
  • Oversees the development of the project and ensures that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards
  • Accurately document the project's creation, development, and execution as well as document the project's scope, budget, and justification
  • Communicates with required team members or stakeholders through computer skills, plan readings and specs as well as through estimation software.
  • Conducts pre-job and continuing planning meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules, or any unusual requirements of the project
  • Procure equipment, subcontractors, and jobsite materials.
  • Perform in-progress and final inspections of contracted projects
  • Collaborates with other department leaders and business units to define, prioritize, and develop projects
  • Leads safe work practices and reporting requirements
  • Ensures all processes are compliant with the relevant labor laws
  • Observes existing projects and develops strategies for improved efficiency and profit, as well as cost reduction
  • Organize, communicate and error check each project's administrative information prior to commencing the project. This is inclusive of creating a project number, assigning internal revenue and expense quantities, reviewing the budget, setting-up the electronic and hardcopy folders and similar tasks.
  • Review the project's contract (i.e., scope of work, price/budget, schedule, and quality) with the salesperson to disseminate project and customer information.
  • Identify, review, select and negotiate with subcontractors for required services. Subcontractors typically include demolition, building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, controls and similarly project related trades.
  • Create, negotiate, and update subcontractor and customer agreements and change orders.
  • Plan each project and present internally and to customer. Update as necessary.
  • Provide on-site supervision of in-house and subcontractor trade labor.
  • Coordinate all on-site activity with customer to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and supervise the start-up of all equipment and systems as well as customer training on their operation.
  • Create and provide copies of Installation, Operation & Maintenance Manuals as appropriate to each project.
  • Inform and document each customer's warranty coverage in scope, duration, and emergency contact.
  • Track and review each project's financial performance (i.e., to date as well as estimated to completion).
  • Develop appropriate technical and financial plans of action and options as unplanned issues arise.
  • Provide weekly updates (i.e., narrative, and financial) on each project's status and critical issues affecting budget, quality, engineering, and schedule.
