Description

Master's Level School Clinician

Briggs

Full Time Exempt

General Summary: Provide clinical services, and school adjustment counseling, client advocacy, behavioral management, and crisis intervention for students and their families on an outreach basis. Provide clinical consultation to school-based behavior specialists.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Provide safety care.
  • Assist in the New Student Onboarding Process
  • Act as an advocate as needed to assigned students.
  • Collaborate with other providers, agencies and individuals in the students' network of care.
  • Provide referral consultation and education to Students and their families
  • Assist in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans and behavior modification plans, as needed.
  • Maintain a record of participation, document clinical interventions and report clinical progress in a manner consistent with thrive standards.
  • Complete data collection, incident reporting forms and clinical documentation in accordance with Thrive standards.
  • Assist students in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Provide case management services as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with school systems to ensure consistency of programming;
  • Transport students

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
  • Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all students, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies:

  • Master's Degree in the Human Service field. At least 1-year experience with children and/or adolescents with behavioral and emotional difficulties required.
  • Experience Preferred in: Substance Abuse, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety

Certifications, Licenses Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job
