Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. Must have change management experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Software Engineer and Integrator - for Payload Control you'll be a member a cross functional team responsible for software development and resolution of production and system integration issues, both in a laboratory environment and onboard U.S. Navy submarines

  • Change Management (CM) (required)
  • Scripting languages such as python, bash, perl
  • Docker and podman container management
  • C++ development
  • Design and develop new functionality and apply new technologies to existing functionality
  • Maintain existing software and integrate new software into existing subsystems - including refactoring to modernize implementations
  • Learn quickly and adapt to a wide variety of technologies and tasks that a small team affords
  • Support hardware integration including hardware (RAID, network, etc.) and operating system adjustments to achieve optimal performance for high bandwidth recording

  • GitHub/GitLab/Gitea pipelines
  • Proficent in the use of advanced git operations such as cherry-pick and rebase
  • Flask web framework
  • Docker and/or Podman container creation and orchestration
  • Object Oriented Programming in Java or C++ and C programming experience
  • Linux System Administrator
  • Multithreaded programming
  • Networking protocols and socket programming
  • Development background in Unix/Linux based operating systems
  • Work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem analysis and debugging skills in a system-of-systems environment

Target salary range: USD $107,520.00/Yr. - USD $119,280.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
