Compensation: $63,000 - $94,400

Why this job matters:

Assist in the overall management and implementation of strategies and that strengthen the relationship between broker distribution channel and Plan to ensure a strategic partnership and continual growth to meet sales objectives and enrollment targets. Implement processes and policies to effectively support the broker community and external partners ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.



What you will do:

  • Assist with overall development, implementation, and management of programs and strategies that enhance pipeline of broker distribution channel and strengthen partnership between Plan and broker community. Ensure organization's ability to meet sales objectives and enrollment targets through broker community.
  • Serve as liaison with the broker community; develop and maintain effective working relationships Ensure all broker sales processes and procedures adhere to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor sales results and broker book of business performance metrics; meet with brokers to review results and discuss opportunities.
  • Develop and implement policies to effectively communicate with and address issues within the broker community; oversee the education of broker community as related to the healthcare environment and products and services.

What you need to succeed:

  • A combination of education and related work experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of health care issues, Blue Cross products, HMOs, PPOs, POS, financial and banking products, personnel policy and performance appraisals
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and consensus-building skills
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Strong business acumen and political savvy
  • Ability to lead and manage projects
  • Ability to collaborate while dealing with complex situations
  • Ability to think creatively and to drive innovation
  • Ability to motivate, lead and inspire a diverse group to a common goal/solution with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to convert business strategy into action-oriented objectives and measurable results
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and consensus-building skills
  • Ability to mentor, coach and provide guidance to others

The extras:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Health Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years' experience in Medicare Operations, sales or business development.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry
  • Experience working in sales or marketing roles.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders (producers, providers, employers, members)

Location:

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:

  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week*.

*-Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Virginia
