Senior Partnership Associate Department: Marketing Location: Bristol, RI, 02809 Skills: Sales/Business Development, Sports Marketing, Sailing and Boating Experience Position Overview:

As part of the marketing team, the partnerships senior associate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue to support the United States Sailing Association and US Sailing Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research new brands and categories for partnership with a focus on non-endemic brands
  • Prospect and solicit companies that align with the mission of US Sailing and the Olympic movement as well as the sailing demographic
  • Ideate and forge connections of brand alignment with US Sailing's vast array of assets, including: The US Sailing Team, U.S. Adult and Youth Championships & Festivals, Shoreside conference and events, Community Initiatives, Digital and Content Creation platforms, Member Connections, and more
  • With the Partnership Coordinator and in conjunction with the Partnership Marketing Department, build targeted proposal decks, and rights and benefits documents
  • Negotiate and close partnerships across the US Sailing portfolio
  • Build trust of internal stakeholders as a point person between a prospect and the operations teams as well as the Partnership Marketing team
  • Be an outward facing "Ambassador" of US Sailing speaking with knowledge and enthusiasm of the Sport and Lifestyle
  • Keep current on trends in the sports marketing industry
  • Generate regular Business Development reports for US Sailing leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualification and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management/Administration, Sports Marketing, or related field, graduate degree is a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Sales/Business Development experience preferably in the sports industry
  • Sailing and Boating experience is a strong plus
  • Superior written, and verbal skills and a creative and proactive mindset
  • Attention to detail and uphold brand standards and consistency
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Willingness to travel and have flexible working hours to accommodate events, competitions, Boat Shows, and client facing meetings
