Job Description:
The Benefit Consultant is responsible for updating the Medical Benefit Summaries for the cases they are assigned to. This includes modifying the Benefit Summaries on a Renewal we are assigned and ensuring the Benefit Summaries on a New Business case match the Benefit Grid. Benefit Consultant are responsible for updating the Benefit Grid for changes back to the original Benefit Grid effective date and any current requests. Benefit Consultants will respond to all Communication Events that pertain to the Benefit Grid and/or Benefit Summary- please forward the request to them as soon as you receive them.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Define and document a detailed implementation plan to client, broker, and sales, identifying gaps and creative solutions to potential roadblocks
  • Define, configure and document all sold benefits (medical and ancillary) and administrative requirements
  • Manage multiple concurrent account implementations including but not limited to: structure and billing set-up, eligibility collection, plan building, database loading, ID cards, preparation and delivery of plan materials etc.
  • Direct, plan and drive project resources ensuring delivery of the project to the customer on-time and within the outlined project timeline
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all issues related to the implementation process, plan design and customer deliverables
  • Track and monitor the progress of all functional areas throughout the implementation process and communicate status to customer, Account Management Team and leadership
  • Ability to analyze root cause issues, problem solve and provide recommendations for implementation process improvements
  • Exhibit strong partnership skills with Sales Staff and internal functional areas as well as Specialty Care Services personnel and any outside vendor relationships, as necessary
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships throughout the implementation process as the primary point of contact as well as ongoing support throughout the year, as necessary
  • Ensure integrity of implementation process
  • Travel to meet with customers

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience with project management
  • 3 years experience with account management, client services, and/or case installation
  • 3 years experience working in the health insurance industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Access and Visio
  • Familiar with CDX, Assess, and TOPS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Producer's insurance license preferred
